Matt Kaiser PT, DPT

MY HOBBIES: Matt is an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoys keeping fit by running and playing tennis.

Matt Kaiser, DPT, is a 2015 graduate of Arcadia University in Glenside, PA, and Facility Director for Breakthru-Turnersville. Prior to PT school, Matt attended Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, where he completed his undergraduate studies, obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences.

During his time at Arcadia, Matt not only obtained his doctoral degree in Physical Therapy but was also was awarded a Teaching Assistant position, tutoring first year students in performing manual skills.

In addition to working as facility director for Breakthru in Turnersville, Matt previously worked for over three years as assistant director at an outpatient facility that specialized in treating patients with Multiple Sclerosis and other progressive neurological diseases.

Matt also has clinical experience working in a Skilled Nursing facility in which he provided care in a variety of in home and sub-acute settings.

Matt’s true passion lies in providing excellent care to his patients and working together with them to achieve and progress toward their goals. Matt regularly treats a variety of conditions, but specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries and worker’s compensation cases.

Matt focuses his treatment on each individual to correct dysfunctional movement patterns and promote quality movement to decrease pain and improve functionality. He uses manual treatments as well as patient education and therapeutic exercise to accomplish patient centered goals.

Matt has completed continuing education courses in Clinical geriatric orthopedics, Functional Evaluation and Treatment of the foot, Management of Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, Dynamic Balance Training with Balance-Based Torso-Weighting, and other subjects focused on delivering evidence-based practice for optimal outcomes. He continues to focus on building his education on orthopedics and clinical management of chronic conditions.

When I first met Matt I was in severe neck pain from my son’s Bulldog who yanked my arm during a walk. I could hardly move my head and sleeping was almost impossible. My experience at Rehab Excellence Center was phenomenal. I was feeling completely debilitated, I have a had back flare ups in the past, but not to this extent. I was feeling completely hopeless. I was not able to do my daily errands and had a rough time getting through my work day. After my first appointment I felt hopeful, positive and supported. They take their time with their patients and get a plan that is workable for your specific problem. Dr. Matt, Kyle, Russell and Nick were all extremely professional and made PT a positive experience. I can't say enough good things about Matt, Kyle, Russell and Nick. I was very skeptical when my health insurance wanted me to try PT inplace of shots to ease the pain while I waited the six month to my surgery date. Over the years I have tried PT for myself as well as for my children at different PT offices. None of them ever helped. You were given a couple stretches to do on your own and sent on your way. Not with Rehab Excellence Turnersville!! To my surprise Matt came up with a plan that not only got me to my surgery date but eased the pain, numbness and tingling that I was able to do a few things I was not able to do when I first started PT. They truly care about their patients!! The amount of time they spend with their patients is amazing, no matter how many questions you ask, or how many times they have to show you an exercise(some of us over, and over again) doesn't matter. It is always answered or shown with a smile and as if it's the first time they are showing you. They are always very pleasant, funny, and caring. They treat you like family. I am now finishing up my post surgery PT and can't thank them enough. I have and will continue to recommend this office to anyone looking for a PT office. Matt, Kyle, Russell and Nick truly are the BEST!!

I had to go to physical therapy for both a pinched nerve in my neck and to rehab after Carpal Tunnel surgery. I was skeptical that rehab would do anything for me, but let me tell you, Matt and the rest of the guys there were absolutely WONDERFUL! They are awesome I came in with low confidence and was unsure if I would have permanent damage because I was feeling like I was 25 going on 89 .Now I feel like my old self. Motivation and Energy was always great. They are Extremely Safe and Trustworthy and I don’t trust many people. I could tell them about my concerns without feeling like I was a bother or crying. Last Fall 2021, I had bicep tenodesis and rotator cuff procedures. I came to Rehab Excellence, where Matt took great care of. He is an excellent resource and wealth of knowledge. He listened to my concerns each time I was there, validated the pains I was going through, and provided solutions to get me back on my yoga mat. I was thoroughly pleased with his expertise and the services provided by this facility. I don’t plan on getting hurt anytime soon, but if I ever do, I will be going back to see Matt. He will work around your schedule to make appointments and always make sure you’re satisfied with each session. Knowing there is a place where someone will listen and provide great care helps the pains of rehabilitating any injury, and I’ll be certain to recommend others to go see Matt for their needs. This is my honest opinion, and I was not solicited to write this response by anyone. Go see Matt now and get well quick!

In July I was in a car wreck I shattered my heel and broke my Femur in 2 places. I had 2 surgeries one to put in a femur rod and screws and one to put a plate with 13 screws in my heel. After 10 weeks I was able to attended PT at a different facility. They were nice but it didn't help much. Then in Nov my femur still wasn't healed and I had to have the rod in my femur replaced. Thats when I started at REHAB EXCELLENCE CENTER in Turnersville (3 min from my home) on Dec 27,2021 I walked in with a cane and a severe limp. I wasn't sure what to expect and didn't have high hopes after the first place I'd been to. Well was I ever wrong! I truly call Matt my HERO! From day one he had a smile on his face and answers to my questions. He didn't judge my wonky sense of humor or my excessive nervous talking. By the end of the first week he had me doing leg presses! Now I can do 70lb leg presses, walk up and down steps with little hesitation. I can do squats, you'd be surprised how important that is as I never realized how many times a day I needed to squat to pick things up or even just to tie my shoe ( which I couldn't do when i walked in on my first day) . Pick up and carry things like my clothes basket or groceries!! Curbs no longer frighten me. I have my range of motion back in my leg which is a big deal! He pushed me hard , ok I may have challenged him to do that. But he truly did give me the confidence I needed to push through my fears. I was in it to win it and the prize was my walking again. As I write this it is Feb 1 ,2022. Most days I have no pain and I barely have a limp. Seriously I do not think I could have come this far with out this amazing facility and Matt. Thank you to my new hero for giving me my walk back and hence my confidence!! Sorry this is so wordy but people need to know just how wonderful this facility and it's staff are.

Pain truly is gain here. I know that does not sound too enticing but it is technically true. The moans and groans initially may be from discomfort but ultimately those are the sounds of progress. I was referred to Rehab Excellence due to a work related injury. I was well received and given support and guidance throughout my treatment by Matt and his support staff. I work the night shift and they were able to accommodate my work schedule and home life. I was seen at the Pennsauken branch several year ago and received great service as well. I truly recommend this practice and even more the Turnersville branch for your PT needs.

Rehab Excellence Center lives up to its name! Everyone that works with you is knowledgeable, and they actually listen to you and work with you based on your ability level. Having been to another physical therapy practice for the same injury four years ago, with no improvement, it is incredible how much pain relief has been achieved in a short amount of time! Matt and Russell have been godsends. After dealing with a traumatic work injury and dealing with workman's comp, which by itself is a nightmare even without the added hassles of covid and everyone working from home. Physically injured and emotionally drained, they are a joy to see everyday. They are wonderful at their job, highly trained, and all around terrific people. I consider them friends after these several months together. I Couldn't recommend this place high enough.
