Tim Salkowski, PT, DPT, BFRT
Biography
Dr. Tim Salkowski, PT, DPT, BFRT, is a 2020 graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey, and Site Director for Breakthru Physical Therapy and Fitness-Mount Laurel. Prior to PT school, Tim also attended Rutgers University in 2017, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Philosophy.
Dr. Tim was first exposed to physical therapy after his father punched his boss’s desk at work, breaking his hand and sending him to a physical therapist. His dad had him come check it out since Tim was a lost, young person at a community college trying to figure out what to be when he grew up. Due to his many years of lifting weights and athletic background as a soccer and baseball player, physical therapy was an immediate hit. He would take a job as a physical therapist aide here at Breakthru Physical Therapy before eventually attending Rutgers University to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. After graduation, he returned to Breakthru as a physical therapist and is currently the Site Director of the Mount Laurel office.
Dr. Tim’s passion for physical therapy grew from a love of physical fitness and exercise. He believes that exercise is, in most cases, our first and best line of defense against injury and pain. Throughout his clinical experiences, he has developed a passion for orthopedic and sports physical therapy. Tim has a special interest in Blood Flow Restriction Therapy, which involves low load resistance exercise combined with moderate reduction of blood flow to a working muscle to increase strength and improve cardiovascular function. The only thing Tim loves more than seeing his patients resume participation in activities they love is seeing them go on to make their health and physical fitness a priority in their lives for many years to come.
